Located just a short stroll from our Park Grand hotel Hyde Park, this spectacular event draws crowds of people from all over the world to celebrate the holiday season in style. Here are just a few of the many reasons you should pack your suitcase and head to London this winter to pay Hyde Park a visit.

70 Metre Observation Wheel

Every year, the organisers of Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland go all out to offer new and exciting attractions that are sure to thrill visitors of all ages. This year, it's possible to get a bird’s eye view of the beautifully lit wonderland and surrounding parklands from the 70-metre observation wheel which has been especially constructed for the event.

As this is sure to be a popular attraction, make sure that you book your ride on the wheel in advance so you can take in the thousands of beautiful fairy lights from the air.

The Magical Ice Kingdom

Every year, the artists at Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland create amazing snow and ice sculptures with a festive theme. This year, more than 500 tons of snow and ice have been used to transform the magical ice kingdom into a street scene from the beloved Charles Dickens novel, A Christmas Carol.

Visitors are able to walk through the snowy streets of Dickensian London to see some much-loved characters from the classic book, including the Cratchett family and Scrooge himself! There’s even a six foot tall sculpture of Big Ben to enjoy which is completely crafted from a massive block of ice.

Just don’t forget to pack some warm clothing and gloves before you head to our Hyde Park accommodations as the Magical Ice Kingdom is kept at a low temperature to stop the sculptures melting.

The Ice Rink

Ice rink London

One of the biggest attractions on offer at Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland is the central ice rink. Lines with lit Christmas trees and wooden cabin stalls give the rink that truly festive feel. Visitors can take to the ice to show off their skills before heading off to see what else the wonderland has to offer before returning to our Park Grand hotel Hyde Park later in the evening.

Paddington on Ice

Once you’ve enjoyed a little time on the ice yourself, head back to our Hyde Park accommodations to shed a few layers as it’s time to see the professionals in action!

Brand new for 2019, London’s favourite bear and friends will be providing you and your family with an amazing show packed full of toe-tapping tunes, fantastic choreography and dazzling costumes as Paddington journeys from the wilds of Peru to bustling London.

As the show is only 45-minutes long, it is ideal for younger family members who don’t like staying in one spot for too long, so enjoy an early dinner at the Park Grand hotel Hyde Park and head over to see the show featuring one of the world’s most famous bears.

Zippos Christmas Circus offers several daytime shows and is filled to the brim with amazing festive costumes, acrobatic feats and clowning antics. With a running time of just under an hour, why not head to the huge circus dome to enjoy the show before travelling back to our Hyde Park accommodations for a spot of lunch and to plan what else you want to see at the wonderland later on?
